'''Arthur R. Wetter''' (1917-1999), designed the [[Des Plaines flag]] and the [[Des Plaines Public Library building number 1|library's]] clocktower logo.  He was vice president of the [[Des Plaines Historical Society]] in 1975 and president in 1977. His wife was [[Peggy Wetter]].

He worked in the advertising department at Sears and later opened his own advertising agency, Northwest Public Relations, with his wife.
